Any tips for shooting with kodalith? Also, did you develop yourself?

@sinkinanchorssince1984 This one is not Kodalith but Holographic but although it's one stop slower, it behaves basically the same. I didn't develop it myself but had my lab do it. They used Kodak D76. I got my best results shooting both Kodalith and Holographic using an Olympus 35 UC (same as a 35 SP), which comes with a built-in spotmeter for accurate metering. These films have an extremely limited dynamic range that can easily trick center-weighted average meters.

For this particular photograph, I'm almost sure I metered for the highlights. I wouldn't meter for the shadows with those films as you would get overblown highlights. But I otherwise metered for the mid-tones usually, knowing I would sacrifice all shadow details and get rather bleached highlights, because it's the look I like.

As a general rule, when shooting this type of film (and I would also include Film Washi "A" here), just ask yourself whether you want detailed shadows or detailed highlights, because you cannot really get both.
