A new point-and-shoot camera for me to try, the Olympus XA-1. Not the posh and pricy XA, but the simplier version, the cheap and all-mechanical XA-1, with a fix-focus rather than a rangefinder, and absolutely no settings (except to set the iso at 100 or 400). That said, I like it very much : paid only 30 bucks to buy it, it has simple but nice design, and a Zuiko 35mm 1/4 lens with 4 elements. The selenium cell needs no battery and allows an automatic exposure. It fits in a pocket, the shutter makes no noise, so nobody pays attention. Who needs more for street photography?

So overall, I preferred this one over the apparently more popular NC400. I'm planning to process my next roll of NC400 in ECN-2, just out of curiosity but for now, I prefer NC500. It's grainy and rather unsharp but I prefer the colors.

New film from our stay in Barcelona last February. Late afternoon walk in the Barrio Gotico, then a nice walk the next day around the hill of Montjuïc. Second film with the #Sunbath #500T (400 ISO), produced by a new small laboratory installed in Pantin, near Paris. The result is fabulous.
