first i made two matching masks of cartonage and put mask 1 between lens & film, then i marked the 'starting point' of the film, shot it completely, winded it back, replaced mask 1 with matching mask 2 and finally shot the whole film again. as i used an expired black & white film, i thought it would be better to lower the ASA one step, but regarding the results i see it would have been better not to. in my (delayed) research i got to know that expired b&w films not necessarily need an ASA change. good to know & share that point :)
