白鴎大学の写真同好会 Zero Sum Club が 8/23(木)より写真展「 Hometown Anthology 」を直営店Lomography+で開催！

初日の8/23(木)はオープニングパーティーを開催します！ 巨大な写真のインスタレーションや、Zero Sum Clubのメンバー × 俳優 原啓太さんとのトークショーなど、イベント盛りだくさん。学校やお仕事帰りにぜひ遊びに来てくださいね！（※オープニングへの参加申し込みは下記詳細をご確認ください。）

Zero Sum Clubとは？

高性能なデジタルカメラやスマートフォンで量産されたスクリーンの上の「写真」が溢れかえる現代。「世の中に差し込む光を自分の目で見つめ、どのように表現するか」という目的のもと、 Zero Sum Club（ゼロ サム クラブ）は2017年に白鴎大学で立ち上げられました。「機関銃」のように絶え間なくシャッターを切るような写真ではなく、アナログ写真の原点に立ち返り、白黒フィルムを自ら暗室で現像し、銀塩写真としての「写真」を創作するために日々活動しています。メンバーの中には、仕上がった写真に喜ぶ者もいれば、フィルムを無駄にしてしまったと悲しむ者もいます。そんな彼らが試行錯誤を重ねてシャッターを切り、誕生した作品をご覧ください。

Hometown Anthology（ホームタウン アンソロジー）

Zero Sum Clubにとって2度目となる本展示。クリエイティブ・ディレクターのポール・デルロサリオ氏から学生たちに与えられた課題は 「自分自身と、自分の生まれ育った場所についてじっくり考えて、撮影に臨みなさい。もし生まれ育った場所が自分のホームだと思わないなら、そう思う場所を撮りなさい。」 というものでした。今回は16人のメンバーがロモグラフィーのフィルムとカメラを使い、約400枚の写真を撮影。その中から厳選された作品を展示します。

俳優。東京を拠点に活動。1987年アメリカ・ニュージャーシー州生まれ。9歳の頃より北海道・札幌で育つ。大学入学を機に上京。国内外問わず、舞台や映画など幅広いジャンルで活動している。

杉田酒造

栃木県小山市（おやまし）にある杉田酒造は、市内中心部より車で20分ほど。静かな田園風景広がる「上泉（かみいずみ）」に初代「杉田房吉（ふさきち）」が新潟より移り創業を始める。初代は自らが酒造りをし、水質のすばらしさに旧中村上泉（なかむらかみいずみ）で造りを始め現在は4代目。 酒のコンセプトは「日本酒らしい日本酒」。「造りは手間を惜しまず」をモットーとし、熟成酒が酒力（しゅりょく）の味深い酒を醸しだしています。

From the start of Zero Sum Club in 2017, our aim was to go back to basics of photography. To understand how light behaves and how do we shape it to show others how we view the world. The proliferation of smartphones and digital cameras has produced mass photography on a scale never seen before in human history; but our approach has been to refrain from “machine gun” photography and to explore analog photography in it’s purest form; shooting on black and white film, chemical processing, and printing silver gelatin images in the darkroom. And when members see what they shot, and how they shot it, they either rejoice in what they captured or suffer the brutal consequences of a wasted roll of film.

One vital aspect of Zero Sum Club is the members having constant exposure to more experienced photographers and creatives. Creative direction is overseen by Paul del Rosario who is very much involved with the projects and concept planning. Members have had the pleasure to meet with world class photographers such as Osamu Kanemura, Hiroko Komatsu, and Lyon-based photographer, Guillaume Ducreux.

This year, sixteen ZSC members will enter the realm of color film photography with Lomography Japan with our second exhibition, “Hometown Anthology.” Sixteen students used a variety of Lomography cameras and films. Mostly on color film with a few on black and white, Lady Grey film. The creative director, Paul, gave the simple task: ”Go back and re-observe something about you and your home: something which hardly noticed before. If you don’t feel comfortable shooting something at home, shoot something where you do feel at home. Bring back the color which we stripped off in our black and white sessions.”

The results, Zero Sum Club will exhibit color and monochrome prints per member, along with a patch work of instant film stories. The installation and display will be a big part of our exhibit. In addition, the talk show with Keita Hara at the opening reception party on 8/23 (Thu), should provide an appetizer as to what defines our hometown and how does it relate to sculpting our identity.
