Country: United Kingdom

Tell the community a little bit about yourself? What do you do for fun and is it the same thing you do for a living?
I’ve just graduated from BA Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins, and now hunting for a job. Hunting is not a hobby, so no, I guess it’s not the same thing I do for fun. I like keeping my blog, watching movies, dancing, annoying my neighbours with constant drilling and trekking the streets of London!

How long have you been a Lomographer (or are you new to this whole thing)?
Probably about 3 years, when I got my first SMENA from ebay. I wasn’t aware of this craze about lomography as a brand then, but once I started hearing and seeing Dianas and Holgas carried around, I fell in love. I’m still saving up for a Lubitel!

Describe the LOMO LC-A in five words
Fits in smallest of bags = LOVE!

How did you like shooting with the LOMO LC-A and what were people´s reactions to the camera?
Being able to whip out the Lomo LC-A+ is the best thing after an FBI badge. Photographing is easy once you get used to handling the levers and you can expect the sweetest results. It’s rather empowering too, knowing a lot of people will assume it’s a toy camera.

What fashion/design qualities can you attribute to lomographs?
A lot of the times fashion can be seen so made-up and posed, but with lomography I think it offers a great opportunity to capture style in a carefree, natural manner. I love how you can produce frank, organic photos of fashion with lomography.

What is the strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/ Lomographic encounter that you have ever had?
Strangest. Once, I was in Seven Sisters and spotted an amazing shop display with rows and rows of wigs, so I whipped out my LC-A and snapped it. The owner stormed out, snatched the camera out of my hands and demanded me to delete the photo. She didn’t understand the camera, so she kept saying ‘she locked the camera so I can’t delete it’ and yelled that she will call the police. I got literally shoved away. Safe to say I’m never going back to Seven Sisters again!

If you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your LOMO LC-A, who would it be and why?
I’d love to shoot the generals of Second World War, for example Patton or Eisenhower. Something about them exudes a powerful sense of being and leadership that I feel will translate amazingly into an organic Lomo shot.

If you could take your LOMO LC-A and films into any closet in the world, whose would it be and why?
Probably the costume department of the Royal Opera House, a fantasy within a closet!

Of all the Lomo Cameras available, which one would you deem most fashion worthy to show on your blog and why?
Definitely the LC-A+ and the Lubitel. LC-A for the ease of documenting and the beautiful effects, and Lubitel for the slightly cheaper end of a magnificent medium-format, for more choreographed photoshoots!

What’s your favorite photo you took with the LOMO LC-A and why?
The shot I took of my boyfriend on his birthday. He was scratching his eyes then, although it seems like he’s crying… and he’s got this pathetic small cake with a few candles in front of him… it just perfectly sums up how we like to spend ‘big’ holidays, it’s very personal to me.

If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be (song title & artist please).
Walzer fur Niemand – Sophie Hunger
Funny Little Frog – Belle & Sebastian
Paramore – Misguided Ghosts

What got you into photography in the first place?
I carried around a small Nikon point-and-shoot everywhere since highschool, and took pictures of everything. I wouldn’t call what I took ‘photography’ in a sense that they’re beautiful or artistic, but for me the act of documenting youth and people got me hooked.

Your advice to future LOMO LC-A shooters
Use it, abuse it, whatever you do, take it around everywhere. Not just for holidays or events, but when you’re going to the supermarket, or when you’re taking a bath!
