The municipality of St. Johann in Tirol is located in a large valley in the Leukental valley, surrounded by the peaks of the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser mountain range. Celts, Romans and Germans exchanged possession of this area near the Bavarian border. In 1875 the country was connected to the international railway network, and thanks to this fact, today the country is easily accessible by train from Innsbruck, Munich or even Vienna. With 8,500 inhabitants, St. Johann in Tirol counts among the medium-sized municipalities of Tyrol.
