Sherlock Holmes Statue in Edinburgh

Pentax ESPIO 160. Expired Film - Double Exposure. Sherlock Holmes is the very definition of a British detective and is famous for his stomping ground of London - particularly Baker Street. However, many people that don't realise that the author Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh and apparently based Holmes on Doctor Joseph Bell - a surgeon and teacher at Edinburgh University where Doyle studied. This statue in Edinburgh marks the birthplace of Conan Doyle.
