I invite you to observe especially the background, the surrounding urban environment. There are no people, there are no children in this series. Because Italy has become a sad, hysterical, frenetic, moralistic, violent and racist nation, with false and opportunistic social relations and with a growing nostalgia for an hateful past.

The absence of people symbolizes a city that has lost the desire to play, where even a snowfall is considered as an obstacle to the frenetic work rhythms rather than as a moment of joy and an opportunity to play for the children.
La tradizionale manifestazione natalizia in Piazza Volta, in occasione della Città dei Balocchi. Questo sarà uno dei miei ultimi album dedicati alle persone, per una scelta iconoclasta che durerà a tempo indeterminato per dei motivi che saranno esplicitati strada facendo. Faranno eccezione album come "Cento Volte in Piazza Volta" e "From the Hip", estremamente oggettivi e che non richiedono alcun coinvolgimento emotivo o empatico coi soggetti.

Every time I pass in Volta Square in my city Como, I took a photo in b/w with a camera with a normal lens (from 35 to 58mm) I want to collect 100, 1000 or even more photos! La tradizionale pista di pattinaggio in Piazza Cavour ripresa con la mia fedele Praktica in uno dei miei ultimi album dedicato alle persone. Che spariranno a tempo indeterminato per una scelta che sarà chiarita strada facendo. Già in questo album ho ritratto gli eventi in modo più distaccato e non empatico, a differenza dei miei album precedenti.

The only indication that this is the test roll out of my Fed Zarya is the inscription "Damaged roll" written on the photo envelope. For when I came to rewind the film after finishing, I discovered that the film had completely torn from the cartridge. Imagine the ensuing fun we had at the local lab...
