In the tropics, at the very second of the sun going below the horizon at sunset, or at the first second of the sun rising above the horizon at sunrise, there is a green line, if the air is clear enough over the ocean. It's called the Green Flash. In 1971, a fighter pilot at NAS Pt. Mugu (name long forgotten) managed while flying west over the Pacific on a training flight at about 1600 kph in an F4F to shoot some slides of the Green Flash on a training flight with colour film loaded into the flight camera. They were selling copies at the base photo shop. I had one and lost it long ago. A photo challenge??
