@ensur I'm not sure about the reason but I think it's a combination of several aspects: The composition - the subject is well-placed and an "open end" on the right gives a feeling of eternity, the motive also supports that impression - the sea, the sky and a rock populated by a single man, the light leaks are the final touch to make it a testimony of eternal solitude. But that's just a personal interpretation ;)
