Tell us something about yourself.

I’m just 25 years of age, so I don’t think not really had much time to achieve anything spectacular in my life yet but I like to concentrate my efforts on two things: exposing analogue photography to people, especially to the younger generation that grew up mostly in the digital world and improving my skills and trying to do my best in photography.

Following these two main goals, besides being an active member of the Lomography Community, I collaborated with my friends and created Whattaroll Magazine – a magazine made by and for analogue photographers.

Tell us something about your LomoHome’s name. Why did you decide to have that username?

Definitely my real name is not “bastard” but “tall” describes me well. I’m 192 cm tall and some people call me “Giraffe” so maybe it could be my alternative LomoHome name.

Share with us your most memorable experience in the Lomographic Community.

Seeing my photo in the handpicked section for the very first time is quite a memorable experience for me. I was so happy! Now, I see my photos there almost every week and this motivates me to work more and more.

Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends? If yes, name at least one of them.

A lot of them! marta1901 and I, we created Whattaroll Magazine, along with our trusted collaborators lostlittlekid, _haustor, mrmostarr and yopanic. I consider them as my close friends, too!

I also met a lot of great photographers and amazing people here like yarn, suizidekid, robertoragno, powoui, palepony, pajiceva, mikahsupageek, mephisto19, megkalki, le_ors, kibs, kathepalacio, grazie, earlybird, donnalibera, clownshoes, atria007, andrejrusskovskij and many many others too.

Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next 5 years? Why?

Yes, I think I will. Lomographs are like a diary for me. They will stay with me forever and will allow me to recall the past.

What is your favorite Lomo camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences using this camera?

My favorite Lomo camera is the Lomo Lubitel. I own the Lomo Lubitel 166 Universal. What I love about this camera is its ability to combine my two favorite things: using Russian cameras and shooting squares! A great master of the Lubitel is andrejrusskovskij, go check his photos immediately!

Please share with us your favorite lomograph and explain why you love that particular image.

I love this image because for me it contains the essence of all the feelings that I wanted to encapsulate and show to my viewers.

Please share a Lomograph you wish you had taken and explain why.

This is a masterpiece in all aspects: framing, light metering, focusing, cooperating with the model and using the Lubitel camera. Just perfect.

What’s the best Lomographic or photography advice you think you have given?

Be patient, work hard, and most of all – be you. It’s not only photography advice but for life in general.

If there’s one song or movie that best describes your Lomo life, which one is it and why?

“The Power Ballad” by Molly Nilsson. Why? Because I love freedom! Just listen! :)

Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?

Shoot with as many cameras as you can to find your weapon of choice. Try black & white film, color, rectangles, squares, landscapes, portraits, etc. When you finally found your way, just follow that path. Never shoot to be famous or to be admired by others. Shoot to reflect what is deep inside your heart. Let your photographs take the viewers’ breath away and make them feel just like you did while capturing that moment.
