it's not just where i satisfy my gustatory cravings, it's where i literally find comfort in people's strangeness (pahiram, cynthia alexander)... visit the cafe and try my favorites: hot balut, blacksoup pasta, aligue pasta, mustard-glazed pork loin with green beans, mango turon, AND the one all the single ladies (pahiram din, beyonce) order, "you won't be single for long pasta"!
When I was a small child, my father would make "black spaghetti". He would buy live squids and fix them in a spicy garlic sauce, tinted with the ink, and put them on homemade noodles, also tinted with the ink, It was all very delicious and rather a very dark purplish brown. The whole family liked it, except my stepmother, who wouldn't eat it. This was about 1959. I don't remember how to make it.
