@fedor do you mean the exposure time/shutter speed, the or iso-value setting? as the description tells you, i took the foto with a lomo x-pro 100iso film, which i assume to be based on some kodak slide film like kodak elitechrome 100. it's cross-processed, and i set the automatic exposure system of the lc-a camera to the film's default iso 100 -- so, nothing fancy (daytime, no flash). does this answer your question?
@hxloon hehe. yeah, it's no problem that the lc-a doesn't have a zoom, if you're working with a top model seagull: not shy at all, but professional. the same happened in rome:
www.lomography.jp/homes/c0pe/albums/1779484-rome-take-ii-re… i'm wondering whether both seagulls were from the same model agency. ;-P
@fedor ah okay, you have to know that the lomo lc-a has an automatic exposure system which is designed such that it minimises the f-value (between f/2.8 and f/16) and maximises the shutter speed. the f-value becomes higher then f/2.8 when the camera's maximum shutter speed is reached in bright daylight and with fast film. i think, only few people make sometimes use of the manual aperture mode with this camera, and this isn't even possible anymore with the remake, the lomo lc-a+. since i used a slow film for this photo, the f-value was probably (very close to) 2.8 and the exposure time was calculated by the camera on its own. you can manipulate this automatic system by rating the film with another iso-value; the lc-a has the iso-settings: 25, 50, 100, 200 and 400.
i just don't get it, "my" seagulls always fly away! I'm waiting for a film i took last week where i spent about 15 pics with flying away seagulls! you're lucky, it's really beautiful :)
@carolinama my tip for seagull close-ups is to go to spots where seagulls are used to a lot of people and have experienced that they can get some food. then, they won't be so shy and pose for you. thanks for your likes!
