how it swirls

i could not resist buying the new petzval lens brass by lomography and built by zenit in krasnogorsk. i normally only shoot analog, mostly medium format, but for this lens i took my canon 5d mark ii out of the drawer to see how it swirls. i read that many people had difficulties to find the sweet spot in the first place, but since i am a trained lensbaby composer user i was astonished how easy it worked, even smooth and comfortable. for the golden moments in life this lens is a MUST. the bokeh is extra delicious and when it starts swirling ... OMG. it is not only for portraits but nature also and all subjects with pattern, texture or with not too many details. and i would not be myself when i had not purchased an eos 3 meanwhile for shooting petzval on film. the grain highlights the swirl even more and copes with the contrast better than digital. as always.
