@sirio174 fortunately I'm not a Leica purist so I won't take any offence ;-) I used the Zorki 4K for years was a cracking camera until it died on me :( although the reliability with the M6 is there and the range of incredible lenses available I wouldn't say the 2 cameras are miles apart in performance! It lies in the hands of the photographer and the their eye for detail! Thanks for stopping by :D
Yes, of couse Leica is a great reliable camera... My Z4, Z5, Z6, F2, F3, F5 (Fed 2... of course, not Nikon ;) ) have had a CLA from a (retired) professional repairer some years ago with a precise times and lens calibration and now works well as an M4, M5 and ... M6, at least in my hands! Never a fault in more than 20 years! You have to replace the old soviet grease with a professional lubrificant! Surely Leica M(x) are very reliable for professional photographer, but for an amateur a Z(x) or a F(x) is more than sufficient! I bough these cameras on average of 10 Euro x body and 10 Euro x lens!
@sirio174 Collect the whole set! A professional could compose a decent shot with either or! The I really like the Jupiter Lens for the soviet cameras I've contemplated by one with an M mount and using it with my M6 I just don't want to put my 50 1.1 out of commission lol
I like the Jupiter 3 50/1,5, a great lens, especially in low light conditions together with the collapsible Industar 50/3,5 (Elmar copy), this latter one great for street photography allowing me to carry my camera in a small bag.
I also use a Canonet QL17 as a rangefinder. Good camera, reliable and solid, like new after a CLA
A great camera, with a very sharp lens, is the Olympus 35 RC that I love! Light and sharp!
However, there is a reason that explain why I love so much my Zorki 4 camera. It was my first rangefinder when I was only 16 years old, bought from a Russian seaman (sailor) in Italy during my seaside summer holiday. This camera, bought in the '80, is still 100% working and in perfect status (lens is an Industar 50 collapsible, sharp and again perfect), and is one of my preferred for these sentimental reasons ;)
