First time ever using a SLR

So, I recently acquired this Canon EOS 300 from an uncle and decided to test it out. I managed to finish this roll in less then 2 hours, just clicking randomly inside and outside the house. I have to admit, I pretty much sucked at everything, the light, the focusing. All these advanced features threw me off, considering I had been using only a La Sardina for so long. I think a little patience and practice should do the trick.
