Yep. For lenses longer than 50mm, the price increases as the cube of the diameter of the front element. For anything shorter, it depends on the number of z's and ei's in the name
@aeroektar There was, also, a vast 600 mm f/2.8, Nikon, I think. If you need such a weighty thing, and must ask the price, you can't afford it. For it, there was a tripod with legs like a speed skater. I didn't manage a photo. Too crowded back there. I was on the hunt for filters, especially a 46 mm #29.
Last weekend I was at an auction and a 17mm PK rectilinear went across the block. The auctioneer said it was Cabin mount, though, so I didn't bid. The guy next to me got it for $40.00. He turned down the 80.00 I offered him. At least it was a Vivitar, and not Asahi
Look for a Vivitar 19 mm f/3.8 rectilinear. I bought one of these on a Minolta mount about 30 years ago for ~ $35 at La Canada Camera. There were piles of them, then.
@aeroektar Yes, lines are not quite parallel, but good enough for damage photos in tight spaces, about 110 degrees of coverage, sharp, no vignetting... and cheap! Plastic feeling, but still works. Enjoy!
