Amarillo and Palo Duro Canyon Texas

Amarillo and Palo Duro Canyon are in the Panhandle of West Texas. Palo Duro Canyon area was originally occupied by the Mescalero Apache, and later the Comanche. The Comanche were formidable warriors and are referred to as the "Lords of the Plains." They were eventually driven out by the U.S. Army in the 1870s
