Hi!! Welcome to my home! I am Jay.
I was first introduced to photography when I was around 10 years old and my dad showed me how to use the Kodak camera. It was all manual. It did have a built in light meter but you had to set the aperture and focus. Then frame the shot in the viewfinder and "click". Those were the days of Kodachrome 64 and it seemed like I could not take a bad photo. It helped that most of them were landscapes in National Parks of the American West when we were on vacation.
I took my first real photography course in a Summer School class around 6th grade. At that time I was using the Kodak Instamatic we had.
My first SLR was a used Olympus OM-G. It was pretty beat up and only lasted a year before the electronics died. I went back to the photography store and they said it was not worth repairing. They had an used Olympus OM-4T. It felt like a real camera and took great pictures. I learned to use all the different modes, manual, aperture priority, and spot. Coming back to film after 15 years of digital I fell in love with my OM-4T again. The diopter adjustment and bright viewfinder make it really easy to use without glasses.
