it's a flower, i swear! Glass plates for microscopy are some of the weirdest plates I've used. They are thick (2 millimeters, which is very thick for plates) so I had to upgrade the plate holder to fit into it. The result is ambiguous, but I like it. Glass plate expired in 1991.
